For Electrician is defined as an electrician ( domestic and industrial ) installs, services and repairs electrical wiring ,motors, generators, transformers, low voltage overhead lines and domestic appliances.

In particular after the completion of Level 2 SKM;  he/she is able to :

  1. Installs, repairs and maintains wiring and electrical equipment in industrial and commercial establishment, institutional buildings such as schools and hospitals or residential building.
  2. Examines wiring and equipment such as switches, switchboards, motors, starters and other related electrical mechanisms.
  3. Locates faults, referring to wiring diagrams and schematic diagrams and using test equipment.
  4. Repairs or replaces items such as defective wiring, burnt out fuses and other components of electrical equipment.
  5. Inspect condition of electrical wiring and equipment to ensure conformance with building codes and safety regulations and to maintain efficient operation.
  6. Examines drawings and other specifications.
  7. Positions and fixes distribution boards, fuse boxes, switches, light and power points, starters, relays, motors and generators.
  8. Carry-out commissioning tests using appropriate test equipment.
  9. Cuts, bends, and installs conduits and trunking and draws wires or sheathed cables through.
  10. Pulls and tensions overheads low voltage lines.
